Diamond identification is key to your peace of mind.  We get asked the above question all the time.  And the answer is simple.You need to know the birthmarks (inclusions in your diamond.  In a few minutes we can show you your diamond through a microscope and plot (document) the birthmarks in your diamond.  Once you have seen your diamond through a microscope and been shown the birthmarks in your diamond it is easy to identify your diamond.  Only the highest clarity diamonds, VVS2 and higher, are difficult to plot because the birthmarks are so small.  The vast majority of diamonds have birthmarks that are easy to see through a microscope.  The photo above shows what a plot looks like.

It is becoming more common for diamonds to have a serial number engraved on the girdle (edge).  This microscopic number makes identifying your diamond a cinch.
